BlueTopia
Sophomore photo students were prompted to imagine that they had the privilege to visit the exclusive world of BlueTopia. They had to think about its features and how they would portray this visually. To create the images they had to use the Cyanotype process to create their images. For this process, they had to mix potassium ferricyanide with ferric ammonium citrate and coat their own paper so it can become sensitive to light. After shooting their photographs they had to print their digital image as transparencies so they can place them on top of the light-sensitive paper and expose it to light to create their final image. The photographs displayed here portray an alternative photographic process, and the student’s depictions of the unique world of BlueTopia where everything is blue.
